Catherine Curtis-Walsh is an Associate lawyer who has worked almost exclusively in Family Law for over eight years.  

Having represented many clients, she is able to quickly grasp complex and complicated family law matters and confidently move matters towards resolution in an amicable and time effective way.

Catherine has extensive Court experience in State and Federal family law courts. She has led the resolution of complicated parenting matters involving the Hague Convention on Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. She has also successfully assisted Grandparents, families with multiple parents, same sex relationships and those experiencing sensitive cultural issues.  

Catherine has represented many clients at mediations and has strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills. Catherine always attempts to resolve matters at the earliest possible opportunity to save costs and avoid further difficulties associated with Court proceedings. Catherine has effectively managed matters from negotiation up to trial, when issues remain in dispute, despite best efforts to resolve them in a fair way. 

Catherine prides herself on her excellent communication skills. She has an incredible ability to understand each person’s unique family situation and explain legal concepts in a straightforward and simple way. Catherine offers tailored advice in a supportive way aiming to provide reassurance and confidence when deciding on the best solution for your family. 

Catherine has a deep understanding of how stressful and difficult relationship breakdowns can be. She also knows how overwhelming engaging with the legal system can be. Catherine is passionate about providing high quality assistance to clients to make the best possible decisions for their children and themselves. Catherine aims to ensure agreed outcomes suit each family’s needs and endure long after settlement.  

 She has attained a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Catherine is a mother of two who enjoys tennis, cycling, swimming and cross stitch. She is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, and volunteers with the Salvation Army.
