Simon is an LIV Accredited Specialist (Commercial Litigation) and has extensive experience in resolving commercial disputes and litigation.
Having been admitted to practice in 2002, Simon was called to the Victorian Bar in 2004 where he practised as a barrister for over a decade, conducting trials in the Supreme Courts of Victoria and Tasmania, the County Court of Victoria, the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria, the Federal Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, VCAT and the AAT.
In 2016, Simon returned to practise as a solicitor and shifted his focus to assisting his clients to find commercial solutions at the outset of their disputes where possible, rather than engaging in costly and time-consuming litigation if that can be avoided. Simon also became a nationally accredited mediator, assisting parties to communicate and find creative resolution options as an alternative to prolonged court proceedings.
When litigation is needed, however, Simon is well–placed to prepare clients’ matters, having a keen insight into how their trials will eventually need to be conducted and the preparation required to best position them for their trial.
