Emma Restall is our experienced and highly capable leader of the Building & Construction team.
Emma has extensive experience dealing with both domestic and commercial building matters. Her skillset includes giving contractual advice and drafting, deals with disputes, commencing and defending proceedings, Building Industry Security of Payment claims and a variety of other matters that come with the broad territory of building. Having found herself thrown in to the deep end of litigation very early in her career, Emma is also highly experienced and well-practiced in alternative dispute resolution and across all jurisdictions from the Tribunal through to the Supreme Court in a variation of other commercial and civil matters.
Having represented a broad variety of clients, Emma is able to traverse easily between different perspectives of building and construction and commercial matters. Emma works with owners, builders, sub-contractors and various other service providers on both domestic and commercial matters and finds herself able to flawlessly switch between tactics that suit each client’s needs individually whilst having the benefit of another parties perspective from her experience.
Emma is committed to working within her client’s specific needs and tailors each of her approaches accordingly. Always forming a personal connection, she maintains a warm and approachable manner with her client’s but makes for a formidable opponent when necessary.
With a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Law from Griffith University Emma moved from Queensland in 2015 and has called Melbourne home ever since. Her past lives including being an event coordinator for high level corporate and private events, competing at a national level as a rower and also being a rowing coach throughout her studies.
On the weekends Emma enjoys staying active and goes on hikes with her golden retriever Lottie, getting back to her Queensland roots at the beach and seeing live music. She also recently began a course to have Lottie trained to be an accredited therapy dog.
