Harish Nair is a Partner in our Property, Building and Construction team, practising in the areas of property development, building and construction, owners corporation and other associated areas.

With over a decade of experience, Harish provides clients with valuable advice on:

• project delivery strategies
• negotiating and drafting of contracts and other project documentation
• risk management and regulatory compliance
• early dispute resolution
• security of payment remedies (SOPA Claims)
• litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.

Harish has extensive knowledge and experience in:

Development Projects, offering comprehensive support throughout the entire project lifecycle. He collaborates closely with clients to understand their project vision and delivery requirements, addressing aspects like time, cost, and quality.

By identifying and addressing project-specific risks in a timely manner, Harish helps minimise the chances of costly disputes arising. In case disputes do occur, he is well-versed in guiding clients through litigation and dispute resolution processes in all jurisdictions.

Harish’s clients include principals, developers, owners, consultants, building practitioners (Builders, Contractors, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, tradies), superintendents, homeowners, and private clients.

In the Building & Construction sector, Harish provides a whole-of-project service, covering procurement, contract preparation, project delivery, and dispute resolution. His expertise lies in drafting and negotiating contracts for various types of developments, ensuring compliance, risk management, and performance monitoring.

With extensive experience in construction dispute resolution, Harish assists clients in various Court and Tribunal jurisdictions in Victoria and beyond.

Furthermore, Harish possesses a detailed understanding of the dynamics within Owners Corporations. He delivers practical legal seminars and timely advice to owners corporation managers and committee members, keeping them informed about industry changes and developments. Harish offers guidance on all Owners Corporation matters, including advisory work, document drafting, and litigious issues, regularly serving owners corporations of all sizes, registered managers, committee members, lot owners, and developers.

Harish has a Bachelor of Law from University of Tasmania. He also has a Bachelor of Nautical Science and Bachelor of Commerce from University of Mumbai and a Graduate Diploma in Maritime and Logistic management from University of Tasmania. His past life included being a navigating officer on the largest oil tanker ever built in the merchant navy.

Come the weekend, Harish loves to go for long drives and relax at the coast with his wife and his daughter.
