Joanna Shaft
Joanna is an experienced Senior Associate at PCL Lawyers. She has a depth of experience across many areas of law. She has strong experience in;
- general commercial
- litigation and
- dispute resolution
- property and leasing disputes ie. retail, commercial and residential.
Joanna has assisted a wide variety of SME and individual clients during her legal career.
She was admitted as a lawyer in 2017 after completing her graduate diploma in Legal Practice at Leo Cussen. Bachelor of Laws with honours obtained from Victoria University and Graduated with honours. Her dissertation was on the topic of misleading and deceptive conduct in the real estate industry.
Joanna is well experienced in the Magistrates’ Court, County Court, Supreme Court and VCAT matters. She has been the instructing lawyer and is also experienced in conducting her own appearances in these courts.
As part of litigation matters she has attended many mediations and other dispute resolution processes on behalf of clients where disputes have successfully been resolved.
Joanna is intent on providing excellent client outcomes by developing these professional relationships through communication. She is outcome driven rather than process driven to ensure that she ascertains exactly what her clients are wishing to achieve and works closely with them to reach the best outcome. She develops strategies in order to ensure that her clients are served in the best and most cost–effective way.
Notably she has completed a County Court Internship with Judge Phillip Misso where she gained a concrete understanding of inner workings of the judicial system. She is also fluent in Greek.
