Justin Leong

Justin Leong is a senior property and commercial lawyer advising on complex, high-value real estate transactions and leasing matters across NSW and other Australian jurisdictions.

He advises property developers, asset managers and owners of shopping centres and retail and commercial centres, hotel and hospitality operators, domestic and international high-net-worth individuals, SMEs, mortgagees and insolvency practitioners (including liquidators, receivers, and controllers). He acts across the full lifecycle of real estate assets and commercial enterprises – from site or enterprise acquisition and due diligence through to development, leasing, financing and disposal.

Justin is regularly trusted to lead high-value strategic transactions involving the acquisition and sale of significant commercial, industrial, mixed-use and rural holdings, as well as residential and project-delivery conveyancing. He has extensive experience negotiating and documenting agreements for lease and leases (retail, commercial, industrial and hospitality), incentive arrangements and portfolio leasing programs for shopping centres, office buildings, hotel assets, and rural land.

In addition to private practice, Justin has provided in-house legal counsel services to ASX-listed and multinational property developers and a major hotel operator. In these roles he has delivered practical, commercially-driven advice on project delivery, material contracts, corporate governance, settlement programs for large off-the-plan and subdivision projects, and the management of external legal teams on contentious and non-contentious matters. This blend of in-house and external experience underpins his practical understanding of how legal strategy interacts with commercial drivers, and how to align outcomes with stakeholder expectations.
