Peter Aked brings over three decades of experience and expertise in commercial, litigation and property law to his role at PCL Lawyers.

His practice encompasses providing commercially sound legal advice in both transactional and litigious matters and diverse fields of law. Such areas include banking and finance, insolvency, commercial and general litigation, property law, commercial law, corporate law, equity, trusts, deceased estates, education law and private client matters.

Specialising in banking and finance and insolvency Peter regularly acts in both transactional and litigated matters.

Peter is an integral member of the advisory team employed by many of our clients on a wide variety of business, finance and property projects. He often works together with partners in financing, insolvency, commercial, construction and property practices to provide holistic solutions for our clients. Peter handles matters in various jurisdictions Australia-wide.

Further to his extensive commercial and corporate focus, Peter leads PCL Lawyers’ Education Law practice, acting for students, parents and education providers in disputes with independent schools, universities and other education institutions across Australia. He advises on disciplinary proceedings, discrimination claims, academic misconduct allegations, enrolment and contractual disputes, complaints and internal review processes, and judicial review considerations. His background in complex commercial litigation allows him to identify the legal and practical issues affecting a student’s educational future quickly, and to develop commercially sensible pathways to resolution.
