Applications for the 2024 Legal Scholarships open 1 March 2024

PCL Lawyers is dedicated to helping students grow and succeed in their legal careers.

We are offering a scholarship to students currently studying a Bachelor of Laws or a JD at an Australian university in their final or penultimate year.

We are looking to help students who wish to work with SMEs, individuals, and organisations. PCL Lawyers has had strong growth since it’s beginnings and we owe that to the quality work we do for our clients and the care we take in providing them relevant and pertinent legal advice.

This means understanding the pressures clients face, and the commercial requirements that business owners face. We encourage students to think about a career helping SME clients and individuals in family law matters.

As commercially minded lawyers we take a pragmatic approach to our legal advice. Our clients get the best results not only through a strict legal lens but also by taking into consideration of their commercial considerations as well.

We are offering a Law Student, with a WAM of 70 or more, a grant of $6,000 to assist them through the final stage of their degree.

About The Scholarship

We are pleased to offer a $6,000 cash grant to support the studies of the successful applicants this year.

The deadline for applying for the scholarship is May 31, 2023.

The successful applicant must have an interest in pursuing a legal career.

The winner will be chosen in June 2023 and the grant paid prior to June 30, 2023.

Via the form below, submit a 250 word or less response outlining why you are interested in practising law and helping clients. Include what you believe makes a lawyer successful in helping to deliver pragmatic and commercially sound legal advice. A short note of any personal or financial hardship should also be included if applicable (but is not required).

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled and studying at an Australian University this calendar year.

As an Applicant you must:

• be a law student in your final year or penultimate year of university study;
• be studying a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor;
• have a Minimum Average Weighted Mark (WAM) of 70 or equivalent.
• be a domestic student; and
• be able to provide evidence of enrolment and your WAM (requested for shortlisted applicants only).

We also promote our grant recipients through social media and other online events and as a part of your application you agree for your name and photo to be used for such purposes.
